The GE LCI Contact Interface Board DS3800HIOD1D1C is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE LCI Contact Interface Board DS3800HIOD1D1C also is populated with a reset button located between the retention levers making it accessible from the front of the board. It also is populated with 8 trimmer resistor components and erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules.
The drive contains a modular connector at the end of each board rack. When you slide a board into the rack, the 2 modular connectors meet. The connectors have the same number of connectors and are designed to press into each other to make signal and power connections.
Carefully slide the board into the rack and make sure the components on the board do not scrap against the sides of the rack. The components might be damaged by rough contact with the metal rack. Press the board into the rack with your thumbs to seat the modular connectors. Open the retention levers on the board so that they are prepared to lock the board in the rack. Then close the retention levers. This locks the modular connectors together and prevents the board from moving also.
The modular connectors serve several purposes. They enable the board to receive the current to power the board. The modular connectors also provide the means for the board to receive all command signals from the other boards in the drive. The board also sends signals through the modular connectors.
