The GE Drive Control Board DS3800HFPG1D1C features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Drive Control Board DS3800HFPG1D1C also is populated with a microprocessor and multiple erasable programmable read-only (EPROM) modules. The board has 1 34-pin connector that is accessible from the front of the board. It also is populated with test points and 1 40-pin connector on the surface of the board.   

Another component on the board is a transistor to transistor logic (TTL) device. It serves as the interface logic between integrated circuits. Because the GE Drive Control Board DS3800HFPG1D1C has a dedicated position in the board rack and occupies a double width, care must be taken when it is installed or removed. Use 2 hands when you carry the board and only carry it from the side edges of the board. This protects the components from accidental damage. Your fingers might bend pins and other components. The pins and components might accidently be broken off the board.

Connect any ribbon cables you want to attach to the board and arrange the ribbon cable so that is doesn't block airflow around the microprocessor. Slide the board into the rack until the modular connectors touch the modular connectors at the rear of the rack. Use your thumbs to press the board into the modular connectors. Then press the levers to lock the board in the rack. Finally, attach a ribbon cable to the connector accessible from the front of the board.
