The GE Fish Processor Board DS3800HFPE1D1C features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Fish Processor Board DS3800HFPE1D1C also is populated with 3 jumpers, and multiple capacitors. The board has 1 40-pin connector that is accessible from the front of the board. It also is populated with test points and 1 40-pin connector on the surface of the board.   

Another component on the board is a transistor to transistor logic (TTL) device.

Several test points are available on the GE Fish Processor Board DS3800HFPE1D1C. The test points are assigned IDs to assist the servicer in locating the test point to use to test a particular circuit. Some test point IDs are DOC, RST, and TP3. A service document is available that describes the purpose of each test point and describes the signal each test point tests. Supplied with that information, the servicer can locate the test point to use for testing.

The servicer must have on hand a full function testing device. It must have probes that are compatible with the testing device. The probes must be in good condition. Make sure any insulation is intact and that the cable leads are not frayed or have wires exposed. Place the board on a workbench or desk that is clean and moisture free. If water is on the desk use a clean cloth to dry the surface. Place a static-protective material under the board. This can be a flattened bag or other material.
