The DS3800HFPB1F1E is a processor board for turbine controls. It is part of the Mark IV series of turbine controls. General Electric created the Mark series to handle all aspects of a turbine to ensure correct operation and safety.

On the side of the board is a black connector port. The black forty pin male connector port can be used to connect the circuit board to another electrical components. Found all over the board are many integrated circuits. These integrated circuits contain several different types of circuit components. Tiny capacitors, resistors, diodes and other devices are located on each integrated circuit. Several small blue capacitors are found throughout the board. Capacitors, otherwise know as condensers or condensators, are electric components that store potential energy in an electrical field. Aligned on one edge of the circuit board are eight (8) light-emitting diodes that have red indicator lights. Diodes are electric components that conduct energy in one direction. They have low resistance in one direction and high resistance in the other direction. The light-emitting diodes can perform many functions, including alerting the operator to problems with the device. On the right side of the board are four (4) jumpers with blue jumper pins These jumpers can be used to connect two pins and create an electrical connection between them. These jumpers can be used to modify the settings of a circuit board. Written on the bottom edge of the board is the full name of the device, DS3800HFPB1F1E.
