The GE Digital to Analog Output Board DS3800HCVA1F1G features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Digital to Analog Output Board DS3800HCVA1F1G also is populated with 14 jumpers, and 2 amber indicator LEDs. The board also has 3 connectors accessible from the front of the board, and 4 trimmer resistors.

The GE Digital to Analog Output Board DS3800HCVA1F1G  is populated with an erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) module. The module contains the instruction code and firmware that is used to control the board processing. The module is sensitive to static and so when you plan to handle the module you must take steps before hand to reduce the opportunity of static to corrupt the module. Keep the replacement board in the static protective bag until you are ready to install the board. The bag prevents static from leaving your person and entering the board. Wear a wrist strap too. The static exits your person and is drained to the grounded surface attached to the strap.

When you receive the replacement board you will find that the module socket are empty. This is because in most cases the modules from the defective board are moved to the new board.  

Using the same firmware and instruction code contained on the module helps ensure that the replacement board will function the same as the old board. If new code and firmware is introduced, the board will operate differently, which might lead to operational difficulties.
