The GE Digital to Analog Output Board DS3800HCVA features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Digital to Analog Output Board DS3800HCVA also is populated with 14 jumpers, and 2 amber indicator LEDs. The board also has 3 connectors accessible from the front of the board, and 4 trimmer resistors.

The GE Digital to Analog Output Board DS3800HCVA is also populated with 2 DC to DC voltage regulators. They are large components and have zip ties to secure them to the board. This is due to their large size and weight.

The DC to DC converters contribute to the heat generated by the board. When you plan the installation of the drive, you must consider that many components and boards in the drive generate heat and that if not allowed to escape, the drive will overheat. This will reduce reliability and shorten the lifespan of the components and boards in the drive. Overheating will cause the drive to shutdown automatically. This will reduce productivity and increase service expense. To avoid that, find a location for installation that allows room for air to flow around and through the drive. Often the drive is situated in a space with multiple drives and other equipment in the surrounding area. If that is the case, allow at a minimum of 4 inches of space on both sides of the drive. Also allow for 9 inches at the top and bottom of the drive.
