The GE Speedtronic Circuit Board DS3800DSQD is 3 inches in height and 7 inches in length.  The board features 32 indicator LEDs, multiple capacitors, and 16 jumpers. The GE Speedtronic Circuit Board DS3800DSQD also is populated with 1 50-pin connector.

The GE Speedtronic Circuit Board DS3800DSQD is also populated with an erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) module. Stored on the module are the instructions and firmware code used to control the processing in the drive. The EPROM module can be removed if required. The EPROM module is attached to an EPROM  socket that is embedded on the board. To remove the module, locate the space on each end of the module between the socket and the module. Insert a screwdriver in the space and pry the module off the socket. Move to the other side of the socket and repeat the steps to remove the module.

You must perform this procedure while wearing a wrist strap. This is because the module is sensitive to static and the contents of the module can be compromised or made unreadable by static build up. Your person and the module can store static and the wrist strap provides a route for the static to drain to a grounded object. The grounded object might be a metal support, a metal chair leg, or  a metal bench. You connect the wrist strap to the grounded object by attaching a built-in clip found on the end of the wrist strap. Some wrist straps are supplied with a connector on the end that attaches to a matching port on a workbench.
