The GE General Regulator Board DS3800DMPK1C1B features 14 erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules. The GE General Regulator Board DS3800DMPK1C1B also is populated with 2 34-pin ribbon cables, 2 single-pin connectors, and 17 jumpers.

The jumpers are one method for the installer to configure the board. Before the board is installed from the factory, the technician must review the information about the jumpers provided in the printed material. It describes each jumper and how moving the jumper will change how the board will process information when it is installed. Each jumper is assigned an ID that is visible on surface of the board. The ID begins with the letter J. The ID is suffixed with a unique number. You can read the information about each jumper in the instructions and find the jumper on the board using the jumper ID.

The jumpers all have 3 pins and are designed to cover 2 of the pins. The jumper can cover pins 1 and 2 for one setting. The jumper can cover pins 2 and 3 for the other setting. The information about the jumper in the written material will describe each option. When the board is manufactured and tested at the factory, the board is set with the jumpers in the default positions. The default is often the jumper position that is most common. To move the jumper from the default position, use your thumb and one finger to lift up on the jumper. Then align the jumper over the new position and slide it completely over the 2 pins.
