The GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DMEB1B1C is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end.  The GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DMEB1B1C also is populated with 15 capacitors and 2 trimmer resistors. The board is populated with 2 potentiometers with dial settings and 6 indicator LEDs. It also is populated with test points.

The GE Gas Turbine Control Board DS3800DMEB1B1C is easy to remove from the drive because of the retention levers. The modular connector on the board fits into the modular connector at the rear of the board rack. When you press the modular connectors together, the signal and power connections are made that provide electrical power to the board. The modular connectors also carry control signals. The control signals are received by the board for processing. Then, after processing, they are sent to other boards in the drive for further processing.  However, because the board is easy to remove, there a danger of electric shock to the technician.

Before the replacement procedure is started, the drive is removed from all power. The drive receives power from multiple sources. The electrical current can be dc or ac current. It is best to confer with an engineer or other knowledgeable person about the sources of power and how they can be removed from the drive.

However, even when current is removed, the capacitors store power that can cause a shock or burn. Wait 30 seconds for the current to dissipate from the capacitors.
