The single-pin connectors attach to cables with male pin connectors. Each single-pin connector is designed to carry a specific signal so it is important to refer to the documentation that is available about the board for information about the single-pin connectors and what cables to attach to them. Each single-pin connector is assigned an ID. As you review the documentation about each single-pin connector, use the ID as a reference between the description and the board. To connect a single-pin cable insert it into the connector until it is securely attached to the connector. To remove it from the board, hold it by the connector and pull it out of the connector.

To prepare to replace the board, if the original board has stopped processing or is exhibiting intermittent problems, mark the single-pin cables with the ID of the connector it is attached to. You might plan to use tags on which to write the ID. Another strategy is to use masking tape wrapped around the cable as a surface for writing the connector ID.
