The IC3600TPAB1B is a component for the Mark I/Mark II series by GE. These were the first of the Speedtronic series ever released for the management of steam and gas turbine systems. GE used the most advanced technology available at the time of development to create the MKI (1969) and MKII (1973) to be adaptable and scalable, and to run their heavy-duty turbines more efficiently regardless of size and complexity of their setup. Because of this, the MKI/MKII can be used for the management of everything from a single unit unmanned pumping station rated at 4000 hp up to a multi-unit 400 Mw power station. In the decades since their release, the MKI/MKII have been replaced by newer Speedtronic systems like the MKIV/MKV/MKVI/MKVIe and are now considered obsolete. Yet many facilities around the world are still making use of these systems due to their basic reliability.
The IC3600TPAB1B is a Gate Amp card. It has six large silver transistors, six small silver transistors, three black button transistors, and three half button transistors. Integrated circuits on the boards include two MPD30 7109 chips and three MPD46 7142 chips. It is built with vertically mounted ceramic diodes and carbon composite resistors located in several lines. Capacitors tend to be made of aluminum electrolytic materials.
