The IC3600AIAA1G1B is a GE FANUC component designed for the Speedtronic Mark I and Mark II. These two series for gas or steam turbine management have been in use for decades, and have millions of accumulated hours of service use in a variety of situations, locations, and on differently sized units ranging from 4000 hp single turbine units to 400 Mw combined cycle power plants. The MKI/MKII both offer scaling, adaptability, and longevity, with accurate performance backed up by an independent protective system that employs a high degree of redundancy to ensure safe and reliable machine operation.
A significant percentage of the surface of the IC3600AIAA1G1B is taken up by two relay components. One of these components is placed in one corner of the board, while the other is closer to the center. The board also has two potentiometers, several polyester vinyl, ceramic, and aluminum electrolytic capacitors, and several lines of metal film resistors. The board is built with several transistors and integrated circuits. Some of these components have been mounted vertically.
On one edge of the IC3600AIAA1G1B, twenty-five right-angled pins have been inserted into the surface. The board is numbered underneath these pins. When the IC3600AIAA1G1B is inserted into the Speedtronic framework these pins are wired together and work in conjunction as a sort of backplane to allow the board to communicate with the larger system.
