The Eurotherm 590 series of devices are a wide range of products designated as specifications of a brand of Motor Control Devices. These control devices operate utilizing a series of standard components, such as the 590 Link Drive, a direct current (DC) contactor, and a series of supply fusing that operate utilizing Alternating Current (AC). These pieces of hardware are equipped as a part of every unit.
As for the motor control capabilities of the unit, these are managed by the standard issue 16 bit microprocessor. This microprocessor is capable of handling the control circuitry, which is able to be configured to user specifications, via the software blocking. The control algorithms that manage the processing capabilities of the circuitry is designed as a complex system of coding, which is unable to be replicated by any analog techniques.
The 591C/3600/5/3 unit is externally designed to come integrated with numerous features, such as a physical keypad to issue commands for the model, and a series of Input and Output ports, set with both types: analog and digital. There are a total of 21 ports, with 8 analog I/O and 13 digital I/O.
