The 590 series is a Eurotherm brand product; a line of motor control drive units. They come with several similar components and features. The Eurotherm 590 direct current motor controllers are built with communication capabilities over the Eurotherm fiber-optic cable network. These controllers are designed with three core components needed to operate: a 590 Link Drive, a direct current (DC) contactor, and an alternating current (AC) supply fusing set. Internally, a 16 bit microprocessor is included in the Eurotherm 590 series to process the control abilities.
This 16 bit microprocessor is capable of handling both the complex control algorithms and the software configurable controller circuitry. This microprocessor also handles to duties of making sure the serial link connection is stable, via the fiber-optic cable connection.
This unit is designated as the 591C/0700/5/3 model. The 591C/0700/5/3 is integrated internally with a series of non-regenerative converter modules. There is a set of three Phase 2 model Quadrant configured converters, operating at up to 720 A of power.
