The 590C-0350-9-1 module (also listed as the 590C/0350/9/1) is a part of the Eurotherm 590C line of products developed as a series of direct current motor controller drive units. These drives share numerous amount of similar features and possible configurations.
The 590C/0350/9/1 module is configured to operate with a set of three Phase 4 regenerative converter units (aligned as quadrants). These converters operate at a rate of 720 amperes, and while being utilized, the maximum DC output levels are at a rate of 35 amperes. The power supply needed for this model is at a maximum of 440 volts, delivered by a 3 Phase Alternating Current power supply. The auxiliary power supply for the 590C/0350/9/1 is exactly half of the primary supply, at 220 volts of AC.
The Eurotherm 590C series as a whole are outfitted with a 16 bit microprocessor unit, able to provide an advanced array of features, such as the complex control algorithms. These algorithms are not able to be achieved by any simplistic analog techniques. The internal circuitry of the Eurotherm Drives is regulated by software configurable controls, built around standard software blocks.
The 590C/0350/9/1 unit includes a pair of fully controlled thyristor bridge units, as well as a standard bridge field that is designed with both modes of protection, overload and transient measures. Working in tandem together, they provide accurate speed and torque control capabilities, in any selected direction, or rotation.
