The Eurotherm 590 series of solid state drives were developed and produced by Parker Engineering. These devices were manufactured and produced by the electromechanical department of products.

This model in particular is the 590P/0165/500/0011/UK, a regenerative, direct current thyristor drive. This model is powered by an intake supply of up to 400 V/DC, with a universal control supply between 110 V/DC and 230 V/DC. The typical motor output for the Eurotherm 590 series is at least 68 kilowatts (or, 90 horsepower), at 460 V/DC.

The regenerative models of the Eurotherm 590 drives are outfitted with an array of components. It consists of a pair of fully-controlled thyristor bridges, fuses, contractors, and a field bridge that is capable of transient and overload protection. These devices work together in tandem with a sophisticated electronic control of the acceleration and deceleration, as well as the speed and torque control of the selected direction of rotation for the motors under the 590P/0165/500/0011/UK’s control.
