This unit, designated as the 590P/0035/220/0011/US, is a part of the Eurotherm 590 line of solid state drive (SSD) models. The Eurotherm 590 series was designed by the Parker Engineering Company. This company is responsible for a line of electromechanical products.

The Eurotherm 590 series consists entirely of thyristor drive units, operating on direct current, and is a completely regenerative drive. The 590P/0035/220/0011/US model is operational by a power intake of 400 volts of direct current. The internal universal control supply which ranges between 110 and 230 V/DC. This model is designed to produce a standard motor output of up to 68 kilowatts, which is also measured at 90 horsepower, at a rate of 460 volts of direct current.

The 590P/0035/220/0011/US is equipped with the standard components that all of the Eurotherm 590 regenerative models are outfitted with. The standard hardware consists of pieces such as controlled thyristor bridges, a field bridge for transient and overload protective measures, and a supply of fuses and contractor modules. These components all work in tandem under the advanced electronic control circuitry, which is designed to manage speed acceleration and deceleration for the controlled motors.

The Eurotherm 590 models also feature a standard 32 bit microcontroller module, which is outfitted with complex algorithms for motor control, as well as the software configurable control circuitry and built-in serial link communication methods.

The Eurotherm 590 line is designed with as set of standard dimensions: 200 mm x 292 mm x 434 mm.
