What do the connectors on the back of the Cognex ISM1500-01 In-Sight Micro Series vision system mean?
The ISM1500-01 is a Cognex vision system that allows the user to have measurement, identification, and robot monitoring capabilities on the factor floor. The vision systems function as stand-alone, network-ready, compact units to allow the user to afford these capabilities in the most ideal way. When the Cognex vision system ISM1500-01 In-Sight Micro Series unit is viewed from the rear, there are two connectors that immediately stand out. The first, on the top left of the unit, is the I/O connector. This allows the vision system to connect to high-speed outputs and to the acquisition trigger input. On the lower right hand side of the unit is a slightly larger connector. This PoE connector is where the vision systems connect to the Ethernet that will allow them to have power and network communication connection.

The vision system can be connected to an Ethernet network by using a RJ-45 LAN cable. First this RJ-45 connector will be inserted into the LAN port of the I/O module. The other end of the cable will attach to a router, PC, or a switch depending.
