Product Description

The ISM1400-10 model is made up of extremely rugged industrial-grade housing, some models produced by Cognex are made up of stainless steel but the ISM1400-10 model is not one of those nor is it offered in stainless steel, but the die-cast aluminum this model is made up of still makes this specific unit incredibly durable. 

While this unit is not one of the models equipped with a color tool it does feature the PatMax feature which is an extension of the extended toolset. The two main features associated with the extended toolset on the ISM1400-10 model are the caliper tool and the non-linear calibration. The non-linear calibration associated with this vision system is extremely precise pick-and-place for off-axis and standard mounting due to the constraints of robot motion or space. It can also be used in applications where highly accurate measurements and dimensions are required pertaining to medical devices.

Frequently Asked Questions about ISM1400-10

How would one clean the ISM1400-10 Cognex Vision System In-Sight Micro 1400 Series or other vision systems within the Cognex family?
In order to clean the exterior housing of the vision system, a mild detergent or isopropyl alcohol with a gentle cloth application may be used. Pouring the cleaning agent directly on the vision system is not recommended as cleaner can make its way to the interior of the unit and interfere with the vision system features. Harsh or corrosive elements should not be used on the housing. These solvents include lye, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or gasoline. An air duster is the best tool to use to remove dust or other particles from the image sensory window (exterior portion). 
How does the I/O cable connect to the ISM1400-10 Cognex Vision System?
The I/O module cable connects to the ISM1400-10 in the I/O module with the DB15 connector. This I/O connection location is located at the top left aspect of the vision system when viewing the Cognex ISM1400-10 from the rear view. This cable allows for access to the high-speed outputs and to the vision systems trigger. The signal names for the I/O Module cable pin-out are HS OUT 0, Trigger +, Trigger-, HS common, and HS OUT 1.
