Purchasable from AX Control Inc is the Cognex In-Sight model, 8401C, the industrial automation camera unit made specifically in the monitoring, recording, and detecting and analysing assembly line parts, product, and merchandise. Utilizing the perfect blends of software and programs to do so, the IS8401C comes installed with PatMax and the optional PatMax RedLine, responsible for flaw detection, and others such as InspectEdge, SpreadSheet, and JavaScript. Capable of high speeds transfer via its IO ports, the unit houses up to 512 megabytes of job and program memory, and 512 megabytes of image processing memory. Two user configurable LED lights, a green one and a red one, indicate the network connectivity status of the camera.

The IS8401C, given the “C” in its numeric designation, provides images and video recording in a full color display, at 45 frames per second, in a clear 1280 by 1024 pixel resolution. In order to record properly, the 1 by 1.8 inch sensor has a global shutter, utilizing a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS). At the base of the camera, four threaded M3 holes are placed in order for a C mount accessory block can be attached to allow for placement to other surfaces.
