Cognex is one of the leading manufacturers of vision sensors and industrial level cameras. These units are a part of the wide-spanning array of products known the In-Sight series of vision sensors. This unit in particular is listed as the IS8200C, and it is designed as a next generation micro-camera.

This unit is part of Cognex’s family of advanced, incredibly compact vision sensors, designed for a peak performance at PC level speeds.

The IS8200C in particular is outfitted with both options for a color display: gray monochrome, and full spectrum color display. The image sensor type that is integrated into the internal systems of the IS8200C is a complementary metal/oxide semiconductor module. It is outfitted with a global shutter.

The frame rate for capturing images with the IS8200C ranges between the color settings. While recording in monochrome, the frame rate is at a maximum of 217 frames per second. When utilizing the full color display, the frame rate is 135 fps.

Given the micro-sized frame, the dimensions are 31 mm x 31.2 mm x 75.1 mm, or 1.22 inches x 122.8 in x 2.95 in. These tiny sensors weigh only 132.2 grams, or 4.66 ounces.

The IS8200C model is outfitted with an array of input and output ports for communication. There is 1 dedicated input trigger, and a pair of high speed output ports. However, additional I/O ports are available for these models via an expansion module.
