The Cognex IS5615-01 is a high performance mounted identification (ID) reader. Developed for the Insight 5000 series, this unit can intelligently read and verify both text and 1-D and 2-D barcodes in real time. Text and barcode reading is possible with IDMax, Cognex’s proprietary identification software based on their acclaimed PatMax technology. IDMax combines with advanced OCR/OCV tools to accurately interpret and execute based on scanned codes. Code scanning occurs with this device at a rate of over 7200 ppm. System speeds for this high performance device are further amplified with the unit’s 20 times speed rating.
As a device featuring high performance components, the IS5615-01 has an integrated 1 GHz processor. This controls the entirety of the Cognex tool library, executing all identification commands. From barcode verification to text reading and image filters, the library contains all software for device operation. All images captured with the device are processed with the 256 MB of system photo memory. This renders each image into a 2448 x 2048 pixel resolution. 128 MB of nonvolatile flash memory is also included in the device for job storage. Two networking ports, an Ethernet and a 10/100/1000 BaseT protocol, provide both remote and hardwire network access. Additional serial I/O interfacing is available via a RS232C connection.
To ensure that IS5615-01 operates correctly, follow all manufacturer provided installation and storage parameters. Temperature restrictions dictate that the device be housed in a facility with ambient temperatures no lower than 0℃, or 32℉, and no higher than 45℃, or 113℉.
