The Cognex IS5605 is a vision system designed for the Insight 5000 series. This high resolution model is best equipped to monitor large parts or production lines for small defects. Capable of capturing 16 frames per second, this device provides real time monitoring to ensure system accuracy. These high speed capabilities are further developed with the 20 times speed rating. Images produced by it have a resolution of 2448 x 2048 pixels, the highest offered in the series. All images captured with this device are processed with the integrated 256 MB of image memory. Additional storage is available for jobs and programs in the 128 MB of nonvolatile flash memory.
In addition to being a high resolution model, the IS5605 is also a high performance model. Units like this one feature a 1 GHz processor that runs the entire tool library at lightening fast speeds. The tool library is complete with essential and extended tool packages. Features found on this module include barcode verification, pattern matching, and image filters. Dual networking ports are built into the system, providing both an Ethernet port as well as a 10/100/1000 BaseT connection. Serial interfacing with external I/O modules is also available using a RS232C connection.
Following outlined storage and installation parameters helps to ensure that the device is operating properly. Temperature sensitivities of IS5605 dictates that the device operate in a controlled environment. When operating the device, temperatures can safely range from 0℃ to 45℃, or 32℉ to 113℉. Storage temperatures can also damage the device, even when it is not in use. While storing, ambient temperatures can fall no lower than -30℃, or -22℉, and can raise no higher than 80℃, or 176℉.
