IS5604-11 is a line scan vision system designed for the Insight 5000 series by Cognex. Rather than building an image with pixels, this camera system compiles images line-by-line. With an ability to capture 44K lines per second with a 20 times speed rating, all images are produced in real time. Images are processed using the integrated 256 MB of image memory, while additional storage space for jobs and programming is available using the 128 MB of nonvolatile flash memory.
PatMax capabilities work to enhance the user experience provided by IS5604-11. PatMax is a system feature that intelligently locates parts on production lines using a geometric pattern matching technology. In addition, extended and essential ID and tool sets are featured on the device, providing an array of extra abilities. A few of these features include nonlinear calibration, text verification, and geometric tools. Serial interfacing is available via a RS232C connection when operating the device with an additional I/O module. An Ethernet and a 10/100 BaseT protocol provide users with dual high speed networking ports.
Manufacturer provided storage parameters should be followed to ensure the device is operating within its prescribed limits. IS5604-11 requires a climate controlled facility as it is contains temperature sensitive components. Operating temperatures can safely range from 0℃ to 45℃ (32℉ to 113℉). Even when storing the device, temperatures should be monitored to protect the integrity of the device. These storage temperatures can range as low as -30℃ (-22℉) to as high as 80℃ (176℉).
