The IS5401-01 is an industrial grade vision system from Cognex with an improved resolution and performance rating. It has a resolution of 1024 by 768, a 1.6x increase over the baseline 5400 models. Additionally, the processor is clocked at 2x faster than a baseline 5100 model and 12x faster than the Micro 1020 model. The frame rate of this model is 20 full frames per second, which is slower than the lower-resolution models, but faster than higher definition models. These features allow the IS5401-01 to work as a good middle ground in terms of gathering detail and having a good frame rate.
Technical Information
The IS5401-01 has a standard 1/3-inch CCD sensor that captures monochromatic images on a grayscale with 256 different levels of gray. The lens mount is C-type with an optional lens cover that adds IP67-level protection to the device. The IS5401-01 has 128 MB of non-volatile flash memory and 256 MB of SDRAM, which is a significant upgrade over the 00 version of the same model. This is helpful in allowing more tasks and image data to be on the device at a time without the need of external equipment to add/remove data.
