IS5400-R10 is a remote head camera vision system designed by Cognex for their Insight 5000 series. As a remote head camera module, this device features a camera lens attached to the base with an included connection cable. This allows the lens to be set up away from the base of the unit. An integrated PatMax system provides an enhanced user experience with maximum vision inspection and reliability. PatMax utilizes an advanced geometric pattern technology to locate various parts. All images captured are grayscale and processed using the 64 MB of available photo memory. The module also includes an additional 32 MB of nonvolatile flash storage for programs and jobs.
The system’s 640 x 480 pixel resolution ensures that images captured by this device are clear. Up to 60 frames per second can be captured, in addition to the 10 times speed rating. An array of ID and system tools are integrated into IS5400-R10, expanding the device’s capabilities. Examples of these features include barcode scanning, text reading, and image filtering. An Ethernet and a 10/100 BaseT port offer network connection points for the device. Additional I/O interfacing is available using the RS232C port.
Following all provided installation and storage parameters will prolong the lifespan of the device. A climate controlled operating environment is required as IS5400-R10 is temperature sensitive. While the device is in use, temperatures can safely range as low as 32℉, or 0℃, and as high as 113℉, or 45℃. Storage temperatures are also important as they can affect the device even when it is not in use. Acceptable temperatures can range from -22℉ to 176℉, or -30℃ to 80℃.
