The Cognex IS5400-R00 is a remote head camera vision system. Developed for the Insight 5000 series, this module can capture clear images of high speed machinery. This module has an attached remote head camera. The camera lens attaches to the base of the unit using an included connection cable. This allows for remote placement of the camera away from the base of the module. All images captured are in grayscale, with 256 different shades of gray. Images are processed using the 64 MB of available photo memory. An additional 32 MB of flash memory offers storage for programs and jobs.
A system integrated 640 x 480 pixel resolution allows the device to capture clear images. IS5400-R00 can shoot up to 60 frames per second with a 10 times speed rating. Various system features and enhancements are built into the device. A few of the features include line finding, geometric tools, and text reading and verification. Two network connections are available in the Ethernet and 10/100 BaseT ports. A serial RS232C port offers users an external I/O access point.
Following provided installation and storage parameters will prevent IS5400-R00 from incurring any environmental damages. As a temperature sensitive device, a controlled climate is ideal for housing the module. When operating the system, temperatures can safely range from 0℃ to 45℃, or 32℉ to 113℉. Should the device be placed in storage, those conditions should also be monitored. Safe temperatures range as low as -30℃, or -22℉, to as high as 80℃, or 176℉.
