The Cognex IS5400-CS10 is a full color camera module and video system. Developed for the Insight 5000 series, this module can monitor high speed automation systems. System integrated PatMax provides an exceptional user experience as this eliminates the need for field calibration or resets. PatMax utilizes an advanced geometric pattern technology that easily identifies various machine parts. The images captured with this system are produced in a full 24 bit color. The available 64 MB of photo memory processes every image capture. An additional 32 MB of flash storage provides storage space for programs and jobs. This device is encased in a stainless steel enclosure.
All images produced with IS5400-CS10 are rendered using a 640 x 480 pixel resolution. Up to 60 frames per second are captured using this device, which features an 8 times speed rating. Various ID and tool systems are also built into the device, expanding the workplace functionality. A few of the offered features include nonlinear calibration, image filters, and barcode readers. A built in RS232C port provides an external I/O hookup site, while both Ethernet and 10/100 BaseT ports allow for networking capabilities.
Proper storage and installation parameters are provided to prevent any unintentional damages to the device. Temperature sensitivities of the internal hardware dictate the need to house IS5400-CS10 in a climate controlled environment. While the device is operating, temperatures can safely range as low as 32℉, or 0℃, and as high as 113℉, or 45℃. Ambient temperatures can also affect the module even when it is not in use. Acceptable storage temperatures range from -22℉ to 176℉, or -30℃ to 80℃. The series manual and device datasheet contain a comprehensive safety and installation guide.
