The Cognex IS5400-CS00 is a full color vision system designed for the Insight 5000 series. The module monitors and captures images of high speed machine work to prevent malfunctions. Images captured by the camera are produced in full 24 bit color. All images are processed using the 64 MB of available photo memory. An additional 32 MB of nonvolatile flash memory provide space to save jobs and programs to. Use of a remote network would provide users with expanded storage capabilities. This module is produced in a durable stainless steel case, adding an extra protective layer.
IS5400-CS00 produces clear color images using the 640 x 480 pixel resolution. With an 8 times speed rating, image acquisition is simple and quick. The module can photograph at a rate of 60 frames per second, making it ideal for high speed automation monitoring. An array of ID and tool system features are integrated into this model. Available features include barcode verification, image filters, and nonlinear calibration. Interfacing with other devices is readily accessible with this device. An Ethernet port and a 10/100 BaseT protocol are provided networking ports while a serial RS232C connection allows for I/O communication.
All manufacturer provided storage and installation parameters should be followed to maintain the device. IS5400-CS00 is a temperature sensitive device and requires a climate controlled working environment. When the module is operating, temperatures of the facility can range from 0℃ to 45℃, or 32℉ to 113℉. Even if placing the device in storage, those temperatures can also affect the module. Acceptable storage temperatures can fall as low as -30℃, or -22℉, and raise as high as 80℃, or 176℉. A complete installation and safety guide is available in the series manual and device datasheet.
