The Cognex IS5400-C10 is a full color camera module and vision system. This part is a member of the Insight 5000 series of devices. Parts from this series are capable to monitoring machines in a number of high-speed or hazardous environments. An integrated PatMax system only improves upon the user experience. It allows for parts to be located quickly and precisely using an advanced geometric pattern technology. This allows users to monitor without having to calibrate or reset the field on the device. All images captured with this device are in full 24 bit color. All images are processed using the 64 MB photo memory. Additional storage for programs is available with the included 32 MB of nonvolatile flash memory.
IS5400-C10 produces clear images with the help of the 640 x 480 pixel resolution. The device can capture up to 60 frames per second in addition to its 8 times speed rating. System enhancements such as ID and tool features further enhance the user experience. Examples of these features include barcode verification, image filters, and nonlinear calibration. Multiple communication ports allow for the module to interface directly with peripheral I/O devices and different networks. An Ethernet port, a 10/100 BaseT port, and a RS232C connection are all built into this device.
Following proper storage and installation parameters will protect IS5400-C10 from any unnecessary damages. Monitoring temperatures is critical in maintaining the device, as it is temperature sensitive. Acceptable operating temperatures can range from 32℉, or 0℃, to 113℉, or 45℃. Even if the device is not in use, storage temperatures should be monitored. Safe storage ranges fall between -22℉ and 176℉, or -30℃ and 80℃.
