The Cognex IS5400 is an easily maintained and installable self-contained vision system. Developed for the Insight 5000 series, this unit can remotely monitor a number of working automation environments. The device produces grayscale images in 256 different shades of gray. Images produced by the unit are processed using the 64 MB of available photo memory. An additional 32 MB of nonvolatile flash memory provides users system space to store programs or jobs. If using a remote network, users are provided with unlimited storage capabilities across the series.
Images produced by the IS5400 are easy to see with the 640 x 480 pixel resolution. The device can acquire 60 full frames per second, with an integrated full frame and rapid reset. This unit also features an ID tool set that can read and verify 1- and 2- dimensional barcodes. Other tool systems are integrated into the device, including essential tools such as edge, curve, geometric tools, and image filters. Extended tools such as nonlinear calibration and a caliper tool are also available. A number of network communications ports are also available on the device. An Ethernet port and a 10/100 BaseT, TCP/IP protocol are provided. A serial RS232C port is also available to connect with local I/O devices.
Following all provided storage and installation parameters ensures the device will not incur any accidental damages. A temperature sensitive device, IS5400 should be housed in a climate controlled facility. While operating, temperatures can safely range as low as 0℃, or 32℉, and as high as 45℃, or 113℉. Even when the device is not in use, ambient temperatures should be monitored. Storage temperatures of the device can range from -30℃ to 80℃, or -22℉ to 176℉.
