This 24VDC Cognex camera is a high-speed unit with a 16µs to 1000ms shutter speed. The 828-0221-1R has a 1/3-inch CCD sensor and captures 60 full frames per second at a 640 x 480-pixel resolution. This unit has a 256MB SDRAM as well as 128MB non-volatile flash memory. The latter is the job/program memory, which has unlimited storage via a remote network device.
In-Sight 5110 Vision System cameras are enclosed in a die-cast aluminum housing that has a painted finish. There is an abrasion-resistant cover on the C-mount lens. With this lens cover installed the unit measures 83.4mm (3.28in) x 124.2mm (4.89in) x 61.4mm (2.42in). Without the lens cover installed, the unit’s dimensions are 43.5mm (1.71in) x 124.2mm (4.89in) x 61.4mm (2.42in). When the appropriate lens cover is properly installed, the device meets IP67 standards. The 828-0221-1R also meets CE, FCC, KCC, TÜV SÜD NRTL, and RoHS compliance standards.
This system has unlimited discrete I/Os when an ethernet I/O system is used. Otherwise, it has two high-speed outputs built into the device. There are no built-in discrete inputs, but these can be made available by connecting a compatible I/O module. There is one ethernet port on the 828-0221-1R camera, and RS-232C communication is supported when a compatible I/O module is used.
The In-Sight 828-0221-1R model has five status LEDs on the device's face. Two of these are user configurable, the other three indicate network traffic, network status, and power. The firmware requirement of this device is In-Sight version 4.4.3 or higher.
