800-5842-1R is a replacement lens cover kit manufactured by Cognex for some of their Insight system series. Covers like this are durable plastics that protect the system’s lens from various environmental factors. This replacement kit contains a lens cover as well as an O Ring. Measuring 50mm, this cover fits on specific models of the series. Lens covers are standard issue parts for Insight vision system 5100, 5400, 5401, 5403, 5600, and 5603. Insight color vision system series 5100C and 5400C also use this equipment. This cover can also fit the following ID vision systems: Insight 5110, 5410, 5411, 5413, 5610, and 5613.
Though the 800-5842-1R does not feature any environmental constraints, the device it is installed on does. Following these storage and installation requirements will ensure that the vision system as a whole functions properly. While installed on a production line, ambient temperatures of the operating facility can range from 0℃ to 45℃, or 32℉ to 113℉. The Insight system can be affected by storage temperatures as well, so monitoring these temperatures will protect the device. When not in use and in storage, the entire unit can withstand temperatures as low as -30℃, or -22℉, and as high as 80℃, or 176℉.
