The DataMan series of barcode scanners don’t just stop at the wall mounted code scanners of the DataMan 150/152/260/262 line of products, there are also the mobile, compact, hand-held code scanners, making the process go by with more product oversight and easier monitoring of faulty products.
The DataMan 800/850/855 line of handheld scanners was built, produced, developed, and manufactured by one of the leading developers of industrial sensors, Cognex. Their 800 series is a more mobile variation of their DataMan barcode and matrix scanners.
The physical specifications of the 800 models are standard for what these handheld scanners are sized at. 6.55 inches tall, 4.72 inches long, and 2.82 inches wide. (16.6 centimeters x 11.9 cm x 7.1 cm). The average weight is 6.4 ounces, or 182 grams. The IP-65 rated case, painted yellow and gray, make the DMR-800-00 unit able to be dropped from a height of up to 6 feet, or 1.8 meters, and land roughly onto a concrete surface, and still be a functional scanner, ready to go and scan away.
The DMR-800-00 has the same programming and algorithms as the 150/152/260/262 models of DataMan scanners, the 1-D and 2-D software programs, 1DMax and 2DMax. 1-D codes that have been stacked, are oriented weirdly, and omnidirectionally are able to be successfully scanned by this handheld unit, more efficiently than the immobile scanner.
