Product Description

The H4-ECOM-Start package contains the H4-EBC Ethernet Base Controller, documentation, a network adapter card (NIC) for a desk-top, lap-top, or other device, a cross-over cable, and a CD containing demonstration versions of the configuration software.

The H4-EBC Ethernet Base Controller supports the 10BaseT (twisted pair, copper wire) Ethernet standard. The H4-EBC Ethernet Base Controller connects to the network using a standard RJ45 modular connector. The RJ12 RS232C serial port provides serial communication to an operator-interface device or other serial device.

The H4-EBC Ethernet Base Controller supplies  3680mA at 5VDC and 400mA at 24VDC. The front of the H4-EBC Ethernet Base Controller provides status indicators.

LINK GOOD When green, the module is properly connected to the network.

ERROR When red, or flashing red, a fatal error has occurred.

ACTIVITY Red or flashing red indicates active network data.

Use the H4-EBC Ethernet Base Controller as an interface between a network master controller and the I/O modules in a DL205 series or DL405 series PLCs slave system. A DL205 series, DL405 series, or WinPLC using the Ethernet Remote Master module (ERM) can be used as a network master controller. Also, a device using control software that includes embedded Ethernet I/O drivers or through a compatible OPC server can be a network master controller.

Install the H4-EBC Ethernet Base Controller in the CPU slot on the base module and it communicates across the backplane to the input and output modules. You can also assign a module ID using the DIP switches on the module. Use the DIP switches if you want the ability to install or change modules without using a laptop, desktop, or other device to set the Module ID.
