F4-16DA-2 is an analog voltage output module developed by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. A member of the DirectLogic 405 series, this module can communicate with both series logic controllers and external I/O devices. Outgoing digital signals from the PLC are converted into I/O digestible analog voltage signals. Conversions are precise and accurate as they utilize the system’s integrated 12-bit resolution.
Monitoring voltage levels of the module will ensure that F4-16DA-2 is working within its defined electrical limits. Two selectable output ranges are supported by the device. These ranges include 0 to 5 VDC and 0 to 10 VDC. Outputs produced by this module are voltage sourcing with a 10 mA maximum. A required power budget of 80 mA at 5 VDC of base power is needed to support all module operations. An external power supply is also required, registering between 21.6 and 26.4 VDC.
All provided installation and storage parameters should be followed to prevent device degradation. A climate controlled environment will prolong the life of F4-16DA-2 as it is temperature sensitive. When operating, temperatures can safely fall as low as 32℉, or 0℃, and raise as high as 140℉, or 60℃. Storing the device also requires a controlled climate, as the module can be affected even when not in use. Storage temperatures can safely range from -4℉ to 158℉, or -20℃ to 70℃.
