Product Description

F4-08THM-J is a thermocouple input module developed by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. Developed for the DirectLogic 405 series, this module is capable of interfacing with DL405 logic controllers as well as peripheral devices. It connects to external devices and converts incoming thermocouple signals into ℃ or ℉ direct temperature readings. Type J inputs are the only type accepted by this module. Type J readings can range from -190℃ to 760℃, or -310℉ to 1400℉. Incoming signals are converted using the 16-bit resolution, resulting in precise and accurate measurements.

All incoming data and calculations are complete and require no extra scaling or calculations by the user. These data conversions are based on information provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Measurements provided by F4-08THM-J are kept precise using a number of integrated system features. Automatic cold junction compensation (CJC) is featured as well as thermocouple linearization and digital filtering. All eight channels of the module are fault protected inputs, able to accept ±50 VDC. A required external power supply of 18 to 26.4 VDC is needed by the module.

Following all installation and storage parameters will preserve the integrity of the module. Though F4-08THM-J can monitor extreme temperatures, it cannot be housed in conditions outside of the acceptable range. When in use, ambient temperatures can safely fall between 0℃ and 60℃, or 32℉ and 140℉. Storage temperatures should also be monitored to fall no lower than -20℃, or -4℉, and raise no higher than 70℃, or 158℉.
