A product of Automation Direct, the D4-UV-2 is a Memory Cartridge that fits the D4-440 and D4-450 CPU Modules. The Memory Cartridge increases the amount of space available to these units and utilizes non-volatile memory technology, meaning that the data is retained even when the power is disconnected. The device also features a user-friendly plug-and-play design, allowing for effortless installation and removal without the need for complex wiring or configuration. Furthermore, the cartridge supports high-speed data transfer, allowing for swift and efficient uploading and downloading of PLC programs and data. This feature simplifies system maintenance, programming updates, and data backup procedures, saving valuable time and effort.

While the D4-440 and D4-450 devices have some built-in memory, the D4-UV-2 Memory Cartridge significantly enhances the memory capabilities of these units. This expanded memory enables the user to accommodate larger and more complex control programs, data tables, and configuration settings, providing the flexibility needed to optimize automation processes. The D4-UV-2 offers 15.5 K program storage, over double what the built-in memory of the D4-450 offers on its own. It clears its memory through ultraviolet light methodology.
