The D4-08TR Relay Output Module can be installed in a DL405 I/O system only. Use the D4-08TR Relay Output Module where loads are common that require higher currents than the solid-state outputs can deliver and where some output channels need isolation from other outputs.

The outputs per module of the D4-08TR is 8.  The commons per module is 8 (Isolated) and the output type is Form A (SPST-NO). The operating voltage for the D4-08TR is 5-30VDC / 5--250VAC. The peak voltage is 30VDC / 256VAC. The AC frequency is 47 to 63 Hz. Also, the minimum load current for the D4-08TR is 5mA. The base power requirement for the D4-08TR Relay Output Module at 5VDC is 550mA max. The maximum current (resistive) is 2A / point, 5A / common. The weight of the D4-08TR Relay Output Module is 9.1 oz. (260 g) and the fuse requirement is 1 (8A) per common.

Each point on the module has a logic side indicator. The on or off status of the indicator reflects the status of the point with respect to the CPU. Consider that the status indicators could be operating normally while the actual output device could be damaged.

If you suspect that the module has failed, replace it, if you have a spare. This is an effective method of troubleshooting.  If you suspect another device to have caused the failure in the module, that device might cause the same failure in the replacement module as well.
