Product Description

The D4-06B is one of several available standard bases designed for the DL405 systems.  This base is a 6-slot standard base.  Standard base types restrict the placement of specialty modules to within the local base along with the CPU.  If you require more flexibility, an expansion base may be more suited to your configuration.  It is possible to mix a standard base with multiple new bases, but specialty I/O modules can only be added within the specialty bases and not within the standard base.  Bases are available as 4 slot, 6 slot, or 8 slot. 

The D4-06B is designed with an expansion cable input connection and an expansion cable output connection.  The expansion cable can connect to expansion bases where other modules can be installed.   

The standard base will always hold the CPU, typically with a memory cartridge, an input module, and an output module.   The CPU always needs to be installed in the far left side of the base in the position marked for that use.    Make sure not to exceed power budging for your system configuration. Modules are secured in place by tightening a top screw on each module. 

The D4-06B is less than 12 inches long and has four pre-drilled screw mounts.  Bases should be mounted horizontally to provide the proper ventilation for modules and should provide proper clearance in all directions.   Information regarding clearances and minimum considerations for system enclosures can be found within Automation Direct publications like user guides and manuals.  AX Control can help with replacements if your originals have been lost or misplaced.
