Product Description

The D4-04AD module from Automation Direct is one of many modules for the DirectLogic PLC available in AX Control stock.  This unit is designed to function as a  4-channel Analog-to-digital input module.  Input and output modules for the DL405 can vary in the number of channels they have available.  The D4-04AD is a popular module that can be replaced with an F4-04AD module.  However, this replacement requires a specific configuration of the F4-04AD module where a like-for-like swap does not. 

The D4-04AD has six jumper switches located on the rear of the unit, as well as four switches. Jumpers are used to configure input signal range, while the DIP switch changes whether the unit is selected for standard binary or for two’s complement.  

The D4-04AD can read all four channels in one scan. It can also read analog data into V-memory locations with proper configuration.  For more information, please consult the proper guidelines in Automation Direct manuals and user guides. 

The DL405 is a feature-enhanced controller with a significant amount of memory, advanced diagnostics like drum sequencers, floating-point mather, ASCII output, For/Next loops, and timed subroutines.   The units also offer PID control.   Additional details about the overall system or about the D4-04AD input module can be found by accessing data sheets, user guides, and product manuals.
