Product Description

F3-08THM-J is a thermocouple input module developed by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. This eight channel module is a member of the DirectLogic 305 series, compatible with a number of programmable logic controllers and peripheral devices. The module allows each channel to provide differential thermocouple inputs to the device. Type J input range is the only accepted thermocouple input for this module. Thermocouple linearization is integrated into the device, along with analog and digital filtering. A 12-bit resolution works to convert incoming data signals into a digitally digestible medium. When working in tandem, these systems provide accurate and precise data readings.

A Type J thermocouple input, only a specific range of temperatures are measurable by this device. The acceptable input range for F3-08THM-J is -210℃ to 760℃, or -350℉ to 1390℉. Incoming data to the module is converted into direct temperature readings, displayable in either ℃ or ℉. As the device presents temperature readings to the user, no extra scaling or calculations are required. All calculations are based on data provided by the National Bureau of Standards. Each channel features a fault protected input, preventing power surges from disrupting the device. The absolute maximum rating for the module measures at 130 Vrms or 100 VDC. An automatic cold junction compensation (CJC) is also included with the module.

Be sure to follow all outlined storage and installation protocols, to prevent damages to the device. Though F3-08THM-J is capable of measuring extreme temperatures, the module itself requires a stable operating environment. When operating, ambient temperatures can safely fall as low as 0℃, or 32℉, while safely raising as high as 60℃, or 140℉. Storage temperatures can also affect the longevity of the device, with acceptable ranges falling between -20℃ and 70℃, or -4℉ and 158℉.
