A limit to the D3-10B-NR I/O Base is that it must have a power source that supplies 10-220 VAC power. Another requirement is that the CPU is installed only in the first slot of the CPU base that resides locally.
The D3-10B-NR I/O Base is engineered with 10 slots. Only one CPU base and one expansion base can be supported by the base. You can use expansion bases that provide 5-slot or 10-slots.
