The Automation Direct Facts Engineering Koyo D2-230 is a central processing unit (CPU) module. It is one of a number of modules created for the DirectLogic 205 series of programmable logic controllers. If size is a concern with the PLC, then this small and economical CPU is the perfect choice. A cache of 2.0K of EEPROM program memory is available in this module. Critical data storage occurs in the V-memory system, a feature of all DirectLogic products. The system capacity of the module can hold 2.4K words, with 2048 EEPROM of ladder memory.

A basic unit, this module performs simple tasks with ease. D2-230 includes a basic instruction set that is capable of calculating basic Boolean and simple integer math. Features highlighted on the front plate of the module include the device’s single communications port. This input is a RS-232 port that operates as a DirectSOFT operator interface. If more horsepower or ports are needed, consider a higher series CPU module. Four LED indicator lights, including RUN, BATT, CPU, and PWR, complete the front plate of the module.

Following proper installation and usage parameters is necessary to maintain the integrity of the module. All wiring and installation graphics can be found in the DirectLogic 205 series manual.
