About the F0-04AD-2

The Automation Direct Facts Engineering Koyo F0-04AD-2 is a four channel analog input module. This unit is compatible with DirectLogic 05 and 06 programmable logic controllers. One of many optional modules for the DL05/06 series, this specific unit allows the logic controllers to input up to four analog signals. These signals are then converted into a signal compatible with the controller’s CPU. Input signal levels are adjustable using the J2 jumpers found on the module. From the factory, the jumpers are configured to read 0-5VDC, but can be changed to read 0-10VDC.

Featuring a 12-bit resolution, F0-04AD-2 features one sign/diagnostic bit, one diagnostic bit, 12 binary data bits, and 2 channel ID bits. When installed in either a DL05 or DL06 controller, all four channels of the module can be read in a single scan. The analog inputs also function as process variable for the respective DL model. On the DL05, it can be used for the four PID loops, while it can be used for the eight PID loops on the DL06. Designed with device quality in mind, the module also offers a microcontroller and onboard active analog filtering to digitally process signals. This process filters out most electrical noise, maintaining F0-04AD-2’s precise measurements.

A delicate module, the integrity of the unit depends on the user following proper usage and storage parameters. When placed in an operating PLC, the ambient temperatures can range from 0℃ to 60℃, or 32℉ to 140℉. Should the module go into storage, the temperature of the facility housing it can fall no lower than -20℃, or -4℉, and raise no higher than 70℃, or 158℉.
