The 8440-1023 model of the SPM-D21 series was developed and produced by Woodward Inc. These Woodward SPM-D21 modules are designed as microprocessor-based synchronizers, and developed for integration into industrial generator systems, that are equipped with automatic capabilities for frequency matching, phase matching, and voltage matching. The 8440-1023 unit is built with a combination of synchronization features for three-phase, AC generators. The 8440-1023 includes a generator circuit breaker (GCB) unit, a mains circuit breaker (MCB), as well as a load and power factor control module, and a generator and mains protection system. The 8440-1023 is designed with separate synchronization for the GCB and MCB. The phase matching and slip frequency synching is able to be done simultaneously with the voltage matching. This unit is installed with a two-phase sensing capacity for the generator system, utility bus, and mains circuit breaker. The mains parallel operational capabilities includes true power RMS power calculation and detection, and real power control. There is also the power factor capabilities, control and a setpoint by the selected parameters. The 8440-1023 is outfitted with discrete outputs which permit the unit to raise and lower the output of speed, loading, and the voltage and power factors. This unit’s dimensions are a standard setup in the SPM-D21 series; 144 mm x 72 mm x 122 mm. AX Control Inc. has the 8440-1023 SPM-D21 model in our lineup of products.
