The 8440-1022 is a unit of the Woodward Inc. SPM-D21 series of two breaker synchronizer and load control modules. This line is built with a microprocessor based design, and intended for installation into generator systems that include a series of compatible parts. The 8440-1022 unit is able to provide an automatic frequency, phase, and voltage regulation and matching. The 8440-1022 is designed to provide a combined synchronization for a generator circuit breaker, as well as a mains circuit breaker, and a load and power factor control capability. The 8440-1022 unit’s synchronization occurs separate between the generator circuit breaker and the mains circuit breaker. The two-phase sensing is able to read and diagnose the generator system, utility bus, and mains. The 8440-1022 has four different operational modes which adjust the unit’s parameters within different methods and speeds. The four modes are labeled Run, Check, OFF, and Permissive. The mains parallel operation capabilities this unit is outfitted with includes Real power control, true RMS power calculation, as well as soft shutdown capability, and power factor control and setpoint by parameter. The standard operating features in this unit includes a two-line LCD display, which provides the operators with generator diagnostics and operational information. The 8440-1022 unit is built with the standard set of dimensions; 144 mm by 72 mm by 122 mm. This unit weighs at least 800 grams.
