The 8440-1705 unit is one of the several units within the Woodward Inc. series of synchronizer modules. This unit is a part of the Woodward SPM-D11 units. The 8440-1705 is based with a microprocessor-core design, and are built with the intention of installation into a three-phase, alternating current generator units. The 8440-1705 is designed to provide generator operators with automatic phase matching, as well as frequency matching and voltage matching. The 8440-1705 module is outfitted with both discrete and analog set of output bias signals. The 8440-1705 is designed to combine the synchronization capabilities for one circuit breaker, load, and power factor control, as well as the options for isochronous load sharing and generator protection. The 8440-1705 unit is able to provide the operator with the choice between either phase matching or slip frequency synching while the generator is being voltage matched. The 8440-1705 is outfitted with a mains parallel operational functionalities, which offers real power control and true RM power calculation. Also included is the soft unloading capabilities, as well as power factor control, and the power factor setpoint within the assigned parameters. The 8440-1705 has a standard series of operational features, such as the integrated 2 line liquid crystal display, able to provide users with noticeable, on-site diagnostics and an alarm indication.
