Product Description

This unit is one of the Woodward Inc. products in their line of industrial generator control units. The numerical designation given to this model is the 8440-1301, and is classified as a Woodward SPM-D10/X model of their one-breaker synchronizer units. These synchronizers are developed to be installed into three phase, AC generator systems that include a compatible control unit for engine speed, and an automatic voltage regulator. This includes both Woodward speed controls and voltage regulators, and other compatible brands. The 8440-1301 model comes outfitted a dual synchronization capability. When the unit is matching the voltage intake for the generator, then the operator can either phase match or slip frequency synching with the 8440-1301. There are four user selectable settings for the unit that adjusts the parameters. They are Run, Check, OFF, and Permissive. Physically, the 8440-1301 is outfitted with a protective casing with an APRANORM type housing, and an IP42 rating in the front (which has an insulated surface), and an IP24 rate in the back of the unit. The 8440-1301 is designed with the standard set of dimensions; 144 millimeters x 72 mm x 122 mm, or 5.6 inches x 2.8 in x 4.8 in. The weight is approximately 800 grams, or 1.76 pounds.
