Woodward Inc. is the manufacturing company behind the development, production, and distribution of the 8440-1019 as well as the other units in the SPM-D10 synchronizer series. These units are outfitted with a microprocessor-based design, and intended for the use of three phase, AC generators, as well as others with a similar control set up. The 8440-1019 unit is outfitted with the standard specifications and capabilities, such as phase matching and slip frequency synchronization with the voltage matching. This is achieved by the 8440-1019 unit’s discrete output terminals. The 8440-1019 offers two phase sensing of both the generator and the connected utility bus. It is also able to achieve synchro-check as a diagnostic capability, and monitor the time it takes for synchronization to accurately occur. Installed into the 8440-1019 are the standard operating modes within the series; Run, Check, Permissive, and OFF. The integrated hardware included onto the 8440-1019 model’s frame is a two line, LCD text display for operators to access information and diagnostics, as well as an integrated synchroscope. The 8440-1019 is protected by multiple passwords as to keep the generator’s parameters stable. The operational voltage intake is nominally 24 V/DC, but a minimum of 18 V/DC is required. The maximum intake the 8440-1019 can withstand is 32 V/DC. AX Control Inc. is able to cover this unit with our comprehensive protective warranty.
